Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is Mexican-born musician born into a musical family. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to classical music, boleros from the past, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a lover of tangos and opera, as well as all dramatic performances. Her mother taught her to sing, however she started intensive vocal training with Flavio Belcerra at 16 when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera singer and tenor. Music lessons continued throughout the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Then, she enrolled in an institution called the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was a member of many chamber and opera choirs. In 2000, she relocated back to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she settled in her current home in Southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist in classical Latin American music at private events. She is involved with many local projects and is a teacher and performer, because of her enthusiasm of music and art. Ana is also a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able to share with others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to help younger generations continue the tradition.
